The Faculty of Technology and Education at Beni Suef University organized a religious seminar entitled "Ramadan: The Month of Patience and Victory," on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in the Faculty's seminar hall. The seminar was well-attended by students and was part of the cultural and religious activities that the Faculty is keen to organize during the holy month of Ramadan.

The seminar hosted His Eminence Professor Dr. Gamal Ragab, former Dean of the Faculty of Education for Boys in Assiut, Al-Azhar University, who delivered a lecture addressing the profound spiritual significance of Ramadan. He emphasized that this blessed month represents a school of spiritual development where Muslims learn patience, self-control, and willpower.

His Eminence began his talk by defining patience, explaining that it is one of the greatest values advocated by Islam. He clarified that it is not merely enduring hardship, but rather a strength of faith that motivates Muslims to remain steadfast in obedience, avoid sin, and persevere through trials. His Eminence cited several Quranic verses that emphasize the importance of patience in Islam, including the words of God Almighty:

“O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.” (Quran 2:155)

“And give good tidings to the patient.” (Quran 2:155)

“Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without measure.” (Quran 39:10) He affirmed that patience is among the greatest means of success and prosperity in this life and the hereafter.

His Eminence also explained the types of patience in Islam, which include patience in obedience, patience in abstaining from sin, and patience in the face of adversity. He clarified that the month of Ramadan encompasses all of these types, as Muslims train themselves in patience through fasting, prayer, self-discipline, and adherence to Islamic ethics. In his address, Professor Dr. Gamal Ragab pointed out that throughout history, Ramadan has been a month of victory and empowerment for Muslims. It witnessed numerous battles and conquests in which Muslims achieved great triumphs, most notably the Battle of Badr on the 17th of Ramadan, the conquest of Mecca on the 20th of Ramadan, and the conquest of Andalusia in Ramadan of 92 AH under the leadership of Tariq ibn Ziyad.

He also mentioned the Battle of Ain Jalut, in which Muslims triumphed over the Mongols under the leadership of Sultan Saif ad-Din Qutuz, and the Battle of Hattin, in which Saladin achieved a great victory and recaptured Jerusalem. He further highlighted the victory of the Egyptian army on the 10th of Ramadan in 1973 CE during the October War, emphasizing that these victories reflect the strength of faith, patience, and determination of Muslims throughout history.

At the conclusion of the seminar, the college administration expressed its sincere thanks and appreciation to Professor Dr. Gamal Ragab for his valuable lecture, affirming the college's commitment to organizing such events that contribute to raising students' awareness and strengthening their religious and moral values.
