Field visit to the naval base in Alexandria

A delegation from Beni Suef University visited the Alexandria Naval Base to promote national pride and patriotism among students.

This visit reflects the university and faculty's commitment to developing student awareness, fostering a sense of national pride, and familiarizing them with the achievements and capabilities of the Egyptian Armed Forces and their role in protecting the nation's resources and preserving its sacred values. The university, in cooperation with the Popular and Military Defense Forces Command, the university's Military and National Education Department, the Faculty of Technology and Education, the Faculty of Navigation and Space Technology, and the Faculty of Law, organized a field visit to the Alexandria Naval Base. The visit was attended by Colonel Khaled Nabil, Director of the University's Military Education Department; Dr. Mustafa Wagih, a lecturer in the Operations Control Technology Department and the coordinator of student activities at the Faculty; Assistant Professor Mustafa Mahmoud, Head of the Production Technology Department; and a delegation of university students.
Dr. Tariq explained that this visit comes within the framework of Beni Suef University's commitment to instilling values of national belonging and familiarizing its students with the efforts of the Egyptian Armed Forces in protecting national security and carrying out all assigned tasks under various circumstances. He emphasized the importance of understanding the achievements within the Egyptian state and conveying an accurate picture from the ground, thanks to the continuous directives of the Egyptian political leadership to elevate the level of naval armament to the highest standards of quality and proficiency, reflecting the greatness of the Egyptian state.
The visit also aimed to strengthen and develop national awareness and reinforce the bonds with the valiant Egyptian Armed Forces and the Navy. The visit included a tour aboard some of the newly commissioned frigates, where students received explanations about their manufacturing processes within the Egyptian naval shipyard, their advanced combat capabilities, and their role in enhancing defense capabilities and protecting maritime borders. The tour also included a visit to a naval supply ship and a shipyard, allowing students to observe firsthand the production lines and the latest naval military manufacturing technologies.
The students expressed their pride in the high level of professionalism and qualitative development they witnessed in the capabilities of the Egyptian Navy, emphasizing that what they saw during the visit reflects the significant effort exerted to safeguard the nation's security and resources.
For his part, Colonel Khaled Nabil, Director of Military Education at Beni Suef University, explained that this visit is part of a comprehensive plan to enhance national awareness among young people and connect them with the realities of their armed forces. He pointed out that the Egyptian Navy is experiencing an unprecedented leap in military manufacturing and the continuous modernization of its defense systems, which strengthens Egypt's position as a leading naval power regionally and internationally. The visit also included a seminar on the role of the naval forces, featuring a documentary showcasing the modern development of the Egyptian Navy. This included the opening of the July 3rd Naval Base, a visit to some of the newly acquired vessels at the Alexandria Naval Base, and a tour of the ship and launch repair hangar.
Naval officials also led the university students on an informative tour and discussion about the Egyptian Navy and Egypt's maritime borders. They explained that the naval base's role extends beyond military operations to include humanitarian and social functions, such as rescuing illegal immigrants, delivering aid to disaster-stricken countries, and protecting gas fields and merchant vessels.
