Student awareness campaign entitled “No to smoking and addiction”

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Tarek Ali, University President; Prof. Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; and with the support of Prof. Dr. Mervat Refaat, Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Education, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Essam Hamad, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Sayed Mohamed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Mustafa Wagih, Student Activities Coordinator at the Faculty.

In line with national directives and the Egyptian state's efforts to spread health awareness and combat negative phenomena among youth, the Faculty of Technology and Education at Beni Suef University organized a student awareness campaign entitled "No to Smoking and Addiction" on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. The campaign saw active participation from the student union at the Faculty and was supervised by Dr. Mustafa Wagih, Student Activities Coordinator at the Faculty, and Eng. Mohamed Bassiouni, Teaching Assistant in the Department of Electronics Technology.

The campaign was held in accordance with national directives and the Egyptian state's efforts to spread health awareness and address negative phenomena among youth. The campaign aimed to raise student awareness of the dangers of smoking and addiction and their negative effects on human health and society. It included distributing posters and awareness materials throughout the college, conveying educational and warning messages highlighting the health, psychological, and social harms resulting from smoking and drug use.

The event also featured direct student meetings where the dangers of addiction and its impact on the future of young people were discussed, along with the importance of adopting positive behaviors and maintaining public health. These interactive sessions reflected the students' awareness and their commitment to active community engagement.

This campaign underscores the educational and awareness-raising role of the College of Technology and Education and its ongoing commitment to developing a conscious and capable generation of young people who can address societal challenges, contributing to a healthy and safe society and a better future for the nation.
