A Field Visit to the 320-Acre Complex Projects to Enhance Practical Training for Architectural Construction Technology Students
Under the auspices of His Excellency Professor Dr. Tarek Ali, President of Beni Suef University, Professor Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Professor Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and with the support of Professor Dr. Mervat Refaat, Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Education, and organized by Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Sayed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Sadek, Head of the Department of Architectural Construction Technology, a field visit was organized on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, for second-year students in the Department of Architectural Construction Technology to several ongoing projects at the 320-acre complex at Beni Suef University. This visit was part of the department's summer training plan.
The visit, supervised by Dr. Khadija Shakra, aimed to develop students' practical skills, provide them with hands-on experience, enhance their ability to study and analyze construction sites, and connect academic knowledge with practical applications on-site. This contributes to preparing qualified engineering professionals who meet the demands of the job market according to the latest engineering standards.
The visit included a follow-up on the construction work at the Faculty of Science building on the 320-acre campus. This project is being implemented as part of Beni Suef University's plan to expand its educational projects, under the supervision of the university's Engineering Department and with oversight from the Beni Suef University Engineering Consulting Unit, which serves as the project's general consultant.
During the visit, the students were briefed on the various stages of construction, project management systems, and the quality, safety, and occupational health procedures followed on-site. They also received a detailed explanation of the implementation mechanisms, the engineering challenges facing the projects, and how these challenges are addressed according to sound technical and engineering principles.
The students expressed their satisfaction with the visit, emphasizing that it provided them with a valuable opportunity to learn firsthand about the different stages of construction and project management mechanisms at construction sites. They added that the visit enhanced their practical skills and connected their classroom learning with real-world applications.
At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Khadija Shaqra expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to the company executing the engineering projects, and to all the engineers and site workers, for their warm welcome and hospitality, and for their dedication to providing the students with comprehensive explanations and answering all their inquiries, which contributed to maximizing the scientific and practical benefits of the field visit.
