Civil Engineering Technology students employ recycling and sustainability in graduation projects that serve the environment and society. Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Tarek Ali – President of Beni Suef University, Prof. Dr. Hamada Mohamed – Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud – Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and the care of Prof. Dr. Mervat Refaat – Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Education, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Essam Hamad – Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Sayed – Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty of Technology and Education witnessed today, Sunday, July 12, 2026, the discussion of the graduation projects of the students of the Civil Engineering Technology Department, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mervat Refaat – Dean of the Faculty, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Sayed – Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development and Head of the Civil Engineering Technology Department. This year's projects reflect the vital role the college plays in supporting the state's drive towards sustainable development and a green economy. They offer innovative technological solutions that contribute to preserving natural resources and reducing the environmental impact of industry and construction. The projects addressed diverse topics, including "Production of Sustainable and Lightweight Clay Bricks Using Rice Straw Ash and Crushed Glass," which aims to utilize agricultural and industrial waste and repurpose it to produce more sustainable and efficient building materials. Another project, "Recycling Rubber and Plastic Waste and Using it in the Production of Environmentally Friendly Concrete and Cement Bricks," tackles one of the most pressing contemporary environmental challenges by transforming waste into value-added construction products that contribute to pollution reduction and support the principles of a circular economy. These projects demonstrate the Civil Engineering Technology Department's commitment to promoting environmental sustainability, recycling, the rational use of resources, and innovation in building materials, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt's Vision 2030. They also underscore the college's role in preparing technologically skilled professionals capable of addressing future challenges and providing practical solutions that serve society and the environment. In conclusion, the College Administration and the Department of Civil Construction Technology extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the faculty members and the supporting staff of the department for their sincere efforts in supervision, guidance and follow-up, which had a great impact on producing these projects in an honorable manner that reflects the distinguished scientific and applied level of the department’s students.
